Free order request (ILL order request with Manual Data Input)

Free order request – Example: book

Log into your DigiBib-account. Choose the tab "Inter-Library Loan", then "Book or Book chapters" from the menu on the left. Enter a word or words from the book title or an ISBN into the search field, in this example "21st century challenges facing cultural landscapes" and click the "Continue" button.

If the book you searched for cannot be found you can place an “ILL order request with manual data input for a book” in the green display.

Please check again: was your spelling correct? If so, please fill out the next form with all the requested information. If you don’t have the information for a mandatory field you can use a wildcard such as “.” or “?”

A book request with the free order request form is necessary if you wish to order a book which cannot be traced in Germany and has to be ordered through international interlibrary loan. Please be aware that this would cause additional charges.

  • Charges for order transfer from national to international interlibrary loan (EUR 4,00 or EUR 2,00 for benefitted users)
  • Charges from the supplying library
  • Possibly additional postage costs for returning the material
  • To save additional waiting time for further inquiries you can declare a cost limit in the box “Order – your comments”

Order details:

  • Please give all the information you have for the requested book – so we can investigate the bibliographic information.

Please include the following information when submitting your request:

  • Are other editions of the title or foreign language editions acceptable, should the requested item not be available?
  • Is there a limit on additional fees you are willing to pay, should further costs be required? (especially important by international library loan requests)
  • Are there any further remarks you would like to add to your request? (i.e.: only this edition)
  • Note: In general the e-mail address provided on your library user registration form will be automatically entered into your request form. It is therefore very important that you report any changes to your personal data to the library immediately. (E-mail the library at zbausleihe(at)ub.uni-kl.de or stop by the library personally.)

To complete your request enter your TAN and click "Order".

"Die Bestellung wurde erfolgreich abgesetzt" indicates that your request has been received and is being processed. You may use your TAN to check on the status of individual orders at any time by logging into your ILL account.

Free order request – Example: standard

Standards can usually not be traced in library catalogues. To check, if you have access to a certain standard, please use the database Perinorm (within the IP range of the University). If you cannot open the full text of the requested standard you may be able to receive the standard with a interlibrary loans request.

Therefore log into your DigiBib-account. Choose the tab "Inter-Library Loan", then "Book or Book chapters" from the menu on the left (you usually get a copy of the standard but for processing reasons it is easier to request the standard as a book).

Enter a search term into the “words from the book title” field, in this example “ISO/DIS 3888-1" and click the "Continue" button.

Normally you will not get any hits. Now you can place a “free order” at the end of “Select media item”
