„Just ask!“  - The Central Information desk provides information and advice on the services and offerings of the entire University Library, where by the focus is on advising and supporting our users in their search for information and researches in databases and the internet. Our librarians will answer complex queries, provide support for technical problems and special concerns.

INFORMATION AND ADVICE

Information is our strength: We support you in your research on the World Wide Web and in your search for information in conventional printed reference works and bibliographies.

We show you how to search the Catalog of the University Library for books, journals and articles that are available in printed form or as electronic full text. By the way, in our catalog you can find a wide range of citable references that are not available at site especially many texts from selected journals and conferences.

If you are looking for more literature on a subject, we will guide you through our database offer - from research to full text!

DOCUMENT DELIVERY

We advise you on the execution and processing of interlibrary loan orders (via the DigiBib) and literature orders from document delivery services (KLUB direkt, Subito, LITexpress) .Transaction numbers for interlibrary loan orders can be obtained from the Central Information Office and from the departmental libraries.

KLUB DIREKT - ORDER COPIES OF ARTICLES AND STANDARDS

If you urgently need a specific paper, the library is your competent partner for fast document delivery. KLUB direkt will take care of the complete order processing. KLUB direkt service will deliver copies of articles, excerpts from books and technical standards (except DIN standards) within three working days. The express service provides documents within 24 hours. The delivery of the electronic full text is not possible due to copyright law. Paper copies can be collected from the central library. BOOK A LIBRARIAN - INDIVIDUAL ADVICE

If you are going to write a term paper, a bachelor/master thesis or a dissertation, or if you are looking for specialist literature on your subject that contains not only books but also articles from journals and anthologies, the internet offers a wide range of information and documents. But are these documents really reliable and can they be quoted? Here our "individual advice" is just the right thing for you.

FIT TO STUDY - GUIDED TOURS AND TRAINING COURSES

University staff, guests and school classes can learn more about the services offered by the University Library when they take part in an introductory course or a course for working techniques and methods.

In addition, the University Library offers courses in german language on literature research, literature management and scientific working. By prior arrangement, the training team can respond to the special concerns and interests of the course participants.

REFERENCE WORKS AND BIBLIOGRAPHIES

A reference collection of general reference works, dictionaries, address lists, course catalogues, general and specialist bibliographies and biographical reference works is available in printed form. Some of them are systematically shelved on the ground floor and in the magazine of the Central Library. The entire collection is also listed in our Catalog. The Library also has various reference works which are available as online databases and CD-ROM versions. They can be searched at the workstations in the Central Library, the Departmental Libraries and also across the entire campus network.
