Lending Service to Other Libraries / Library Patrons
The Kaiserslautern University Library participates in the German and international Interlibrary Loan Service.
Lending Conditions and Costs to Patrons
In general books from the University Library collection may be borrowed for a four week period. Materials from the Central Library (call numbers: 45, 46, ERZ, L, PHI, PSY, SPO, MAG, U and UM) are renewable. Materials from the Department Libraries (call numbers: ARB, BIO, CHE, EIT, INF, MAS, PHY and WIR) may not be renewed.
Volumes of journals and periodicals are not lent by the library. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis for a one week period (such as to complete yearly editions) These loans are restricted to use in the library.
Photocopies of 1 to 60 pages are delivered free of charge. For lengthy articles of 61 pages and more a fee of € 2.00 per twenty pages is charged.
Lending conditions are in accordance with those of the German Interlibrary Loan Service.
Requests for publications involve fees as listed below:
- lent items: € 9.00 or 1 IFLA voucher per volume/item
- photocopies: € 5.00 or 1/2 IFLA voucher per article.
International interlibrary loan request forms are completed by the Interlibrary Loan Department staff and sent by fax (0631)205-4009 or e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) to the respective library.
