Discounts / OA-Regulations from publisher side

Members of the TUK receive a 15% discount on publication fees in the open access journal Science Advances. If the author is also a member of AAAS, a further discount of 4% is granted.

Authors of the TUK get the following APC-discounts:
Journal article: USD 1500 instead of USD 1700
Proceedings article and proceedings of the ACM article: USD 800 instead of USD 900. In some cases the complete costs can be omitted.

Please contact the open access team in advance to clarify this aspect.

Members of the TUK receive discount due to the licensing plus in addition with membership in the society.

Some magazines publish completely free of charge, e.g. AIMS Mathematics.

For some journals, members of the TUK receive a 50% discount on licensing of the magazine by the institution.

Reduced APC for a corresponding author who is an active member of ASM at any level except the supporting member level.

IEEE members get 10% discounted on the article processing charge.

IEEE allows authors to post the accepted (not final) version of their article to their own website, their employer’s website, or a repository specified by their funding agency (green OA). Article upload on ResearchGate is not allowed.

A 10% discount is available for all A-type articles whenever a Field Chief Editor, Specialty Chief Editor or Associate Editor is the corresponding author.
A 10% discount is available for all A-type articles whenever a Review Editor is the corresponding author and has submitted within 3 months of either joining the editorial board or completing a Frontiers article review.
A 10% discount is available for A-type articles submitted within the Research Topic deadline.
In cases where authors do not have the means to pay the APCs, they can apply for full or partial waivers.

Authors of TUK are permitted to self-archive a version of final record of their article on an institutional or subject repository (e.g. arXiv) 12 months after first publication ("Embargo Period").

Members of the Institute of Physics and Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft receive a 25% discount (applicable only once per article).

Discount for Members of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Please include your membership number in the online application form when requested to do so. We will then apply a 15% discount automatically.

Authors who are referred via the Manuscript Transfer Program receive a 20% discount on the publication charge.

Authors submitting directly to the journal who belong to one of our supporting journals' societies receive a 10% discount on the publication charge.
