Library fees

Use of the library is in general free of charge. Special library services such as the Interlibrary Loan Service and Document Delivery involve a fee. Library fees are charged to users who fail to return library materials on time. Detailed information can be found on our german site.

* Eligible: Students; individuals performing a service according to Article 12a of the Basic Law, according to the Compulsory Military Service Act, or in terms of the Federal Volunteer Service Act or the Youth Volunteer Service Act; pupils; individuals with a disability degree of at least 50; individuals receiving basic security benefits for jobseekers according to Book II of the Social Code, employment promotion benefits according to Book III of the Social Code, or social welfare according to Book XII of the Social Code; retirees as well as pensioners.

** In case of loss or damage of library items, an additional replacement amount equal to the replacement value must be paid in addition to the processing fee (see Library Regulations § 10(3)).
